Someone turned 4 months old yesterday! I LOVE this age! Nora is so smiley and sweet and happy nearly all the time. She is very social and always wants to be where people are. Everywhere we go she charms people with her bright, sunshiny smile. She is starting to take a real interest in Carolyn especially, which makes my firstborn very happy. Carolyn loves to "hold" Nora when we are sitting on the couch (Mommy provides the support, with Big Sister's arms around her sister). Nora thankfully is very tolerant and just enjoys being close. One of my favorite times of the day is when it's getting close to bedtime and we all sit on the couch and read stories together. Carolyn chooses two books for herself and two for Nora and we all four read them together; sometimes Carolyn even "reads" her sister's book to her. It's really fun having the two girls together.

Physically, it is still nothing short of amazing to me how much strength changes in a baby in just a month's time. Nora has full control of her head and neck muscles now and loves to be able to see the world from an upright position. She rolls pretty proficiently from tummy to back now and is starting to want to sleep on her side (which I know will soon transition into tummy sleeping whether I like it or not!) Nora's hands have really become both useful and fascinating to her; she is quite good at grabbing onto things and she especially likes clothlike objects she can stuff into her mouth easily. She's quite a little drool machine and wants to gnaw on everything so I think some teeth might not be too far in the future (though thankfully she isn't fussy about it yet).
She seems to have hit her stride nursing just a little late; it took her awhile longer than it did Carolyn to master it and get to the point of really enjoying mealtime, but I think she's finally there now. She jumped from the 25th percentile to the 35th at our doctor's appointment today (she was 12 pounds 15 ounces and 23 1/4 inches long). And she's even starting to take a bottle a little better at "school."
So overall, Nora is a delightful, growing, wonderful 4-month-old who fills our days and lives with joy and sunshine. We could not be more blessed. :)
